My son had trouble focusing.
Not AD/HD per se, but he easily became scattered when there was a lot of noise around. Colton would become hyper and had trouble staying seated in one place.
Why did you choose Master Gorinos Tae Kwon-Do?
I brought Colton in for Tae Kwon-Do when he was just a month shy of turning six. My friend was already bringing her son to Master Gorino’s and she recommended it. I was nervous, however after the first class Master Gorino told me my son was absolutely ready and that he’d be fine.
So I signed Colton up and he started coming in on a regular basis. Master Gorino and his staff were very understanding of our situation and took that into consideration when they were training him.
Have you seen improvements in Colton since beginning Tae Kwon-Do?
Within weeks I saw some really great changes in my son. He went from throwing temper-tantrums and crying a lot to actually sitting and listening. In fact, he was able to sit still longer than he had ever had before.
Here he’s with kids his own age. He sees what the other kids are doing, how the other kids are behaving, and he wants to be like them. It’s constantly reinforced and has paid off.
Colton has missed a couple days before and I noticed his behavior slip back to being unfocused. Having a routine with the constant repetition is what is helping the most.
We don’t regret signing him up for Tae Kwon-Do, especially at this school. Master Gorino is here all the time and engaged with all the students. He comes out and talks to the families. He knows the children, he knows the parents. It’s a very nice and relaxed atmosphere where you feel safe.
