On Friday 12/9 our dojang held a Kick-A-Thon to raise money for Cradle Beach Camp. Students volunteered to go out and get pledges for the 500 kicks they will perform during the event. Last year we raised over $13,000.00. This year we hope to hit the $15,000.00 mark. It is these special events that separate true martial artists from “kickers and punchers”. Our students are tops in martial arts but are also #1 when it comes to helping others! Master Gorino is so proud of you all!
Also, we ran a gift drive to provide some awesome gifts for the children of families who have a mother or father (or both) deployed. Last year we were presented with a list of 180 children and we got them all multiple gifts. This year the list grew to about 600 kids. Well, because you are awesome people those 600 kids will get multiple presents from the dojang. Superpages (Verizon Yellow Pages) donated over 80 gifts to assist in our quest. Congratulations to all!
