This week, Max’s mom Shannon shares her thoughts on Tae Kwon-Do and her son.Why did you choose Master Gorino’s Tae Kwon-Do?
Max began Tae Kwon-Do ten years ago at age six. We actually started Max
because my husband had always wanted to learn Tae Kwon-Do when he
was young, but never did. Every time my husband and I drove by Master
Gorino’s school he’d remind me.
“Plus, we’re all pretty big fans of Chuck Norris!”
Does Max like the class structure/environment?
We brought Max in and he instantly liked it. It was interesting because he
gravitated to the discipline and how the school was run. I feel like Tae
Kwon-Do has a very structured feel, kind of like the military. It was
something that was a draw for our family.
Why Tae Kwon-Do?
Max was only six, yet it was an atmosphere he felt very comfortable in.
I was just looking for something for Max to do as a sport. He was not loving
t-ball and didn’t seem like a team sport kind of kid. I was hoping Tae Kwon-
Do might be an activity he’d like and that’s exactly what I got. He loves it!
It was a pleasant surprise to learn Tae Kwon-Do is a team activity. It’s just a
different kind of team.
The Transformation.
Max has transformed into an incredible student, both here and at school.
He is a great kid, polite and confident.
“The way he shakes people’s hands, the way he looks them in the eye…I owe a lot of that to Master Gorino and his school.”
