ABOUT MASTER GORINO’S PIL-SUNG TAE KWON-DO SCHOOL
Master Gorino’s Pil-Sung Tae Kwon-Do in Amherst was established in 1994. Opening its door with seven students, the membership has grown to over 300 active adults and children. The school boasts the largest female student population in the state.
Master Gorino teaches all classes. In addition to Master Gorino the certified staff of black belts and enthusiastic members of the D.E.L.T.A. team provide assistance during class. The school’s emphasis is more than self-defense; it is self-improvement. The development of self-confidence, self-discipline, and respect, enables students to resolve and avoid confrontation.
Our curriculum has been developed and tested for over 20 years. Trends like “Cardio-Karate” and “Aerobic-Boxing” will not be found in our school. These types of trends come and go. Our established program meets and exceeds the physical conditioning, self-defense and martial art training standards of the industry. Enthusiastic instruction, clear direction and goals make the program enjoyable and successful.
In addition to scheduled training programs, our school regularly holds special training sessions, open workouts, extra help opportunities and social events. Adults enjoy picnics, bowling parties and outdoor activities. Children love the sleepovers, pizza parties and special outings.
Administrators from educational institutions have consulted with Master Gorino on his techniques for student behavioral modifications. Master Gorino’s students are continually recognized for their academic progress and improvement in social behavior.
Master Gorino has lectured and provided training for local business executives and their employees. Adults gain stress relief, improve physical health and enhanced job performance as a result of their study of Tae Kwon-Do.
Opportunities to attend and participate in tournaments are provided regularly. Our school holds several inter-school tournaments and attends many local and national competitions. Whether competing locally or nationally our students have won many championships. In addition, they have received awards for their respectful attitude and congenial behavior.
The 8600 sq. foot facility includes a 5000 sq. foot dojang (training room) and a separate warm-up room, as well as bathroom facilities, showers and changing rooms. Lockers are provided. Visitors and parents are always welcome in our spacious lobby to observe the classes.
